My Last 2 Weeks on Bitclout
I wanted to do a post on BitCloud because I feel like I've come full circle now over the past couple of weeks. So I discovered that a couple weeks ago the onboarding process was kind of buggy and it was not really working. They had some scaling issues originally. There was some trouble verifying my phone number the first couple times I tried. It wasn't until I tried using a proxy for my US number. I was trying to verify to use a US IP that I figured out. Oh, that's what was blocking the verification process. So I had some hiccups getting started but then it was super interesting for a few days watching that. I got super hyped about BitCloud. I ended up building a dark mode Chrome extension and I called it designer mode Chrome extension at first. I basically just like went and cleaned up all the CSS things that bugged me in the app, published it on the Firefox out on marketplace and Google Chrome. Some people downloaded that. That was interesting. I ended up creating like 30-bit call accounts, buying some creator coin, investing in a few , some of them went up, some went down, made a little bit of fake money. I don't know why exactly. But it was really fun to play around with. I was really impressed by the developer. He scaled the app to handle the additional load. It's been adding features and fixing bugs. It seems to have a good bit of institutional backing. Like injuries in horror with Gemini, Coinbase, Alex, and Sohanian. It was like just I think an initialized capital as well. There's just like this huge laundry list of investors who've pumped like $170 million into this app or something crazy. It is mind-boggling how much unofficial, official endorsement it has and credibility backing it. But I don't know. After a few days, it's just a bit, I don't know. The posts aren't that great. The content is very much about people trying to pose as BitCloud experts or people talking about BitCloud still. They aren't really talking about anything else. There's not really like, I feel like I'm in a subreddit about BitCloud. All people talk about this BitCloud. And all people seem to be trying to do is coming up with like schemes to get investors or get people to invest in their coin or drive up the value of their coin. There was a little bit of NFT stuff being posted for a while and I thought that would be pretty interesting. I thought it would be really interesting if like NFT creators posted their content and like a lot of discussion came up around that. But it didn't really happen. I haven't seen very much multimedia content posted. It's just getting really boring and I think it's because the algorithm is super simple right now. Like it's basically just the most up-folded stuff from the most popular creators in the last few hours on your global feed and if you follow people it's just what they're posting. I don't found anybody who's super active yet and nobody seems to be posting the type of content I would normally consume on Twitter or other social networks. So it's kind of like an algorithm thing right now. It just isn't like matching me with the right content that I would want to see yet. And so, you know, after the initial hype wears off, it really got boring quick. I really have no incentive to stick around or use the product and that bothers me a little bit. I'm really interested to see where this goes and I'm overall bullish on the idea for the app and I hope that it continues to improve, gain users and exceed expectations.
