Why I focus on Content Marketing & SEO
Every founder at some point has to choose their marketing platform, their medium. That is, if you want to get customers, you could call and pitch potential clients you find on LinkedIn. You can become a social media wizard or like me. You can dive into content marketing and SEO. Why did I choose content marketing and SEO? The answer is really simple. It's not that I think content marketing and SEO are the only worthwhile pursuits. I am an introvert. My version of hell is going on LinkedIn every day, googling people who might use my product and then cold emailing them. I've done it. It sucks. It works, but I don't want to do this. The characteristics of the marketing platform suit me better. I want to build something over time that continues to work regardless of my input. Sacrificing those quick, immediate wins for long-term gains . I'm okay with that trade-off. If it means I don't have to go and hunt down customers every day and pitch them over and over and over on my business.
